- Where you are. Road and nearest exit or cross street. On I-35E, which direction you were traveling.
- What you drive. Make, model, and whether it is all-wheel drive or electric.
- What happened. Will not start, flat tire, locked out, out of fuel, collision, off the road.
- Does it roll and steer. The difference between a hook and a winch.
- Where it is going. A shop, a dealer, your driveway. If you do not know, say so.

If you are in a live traffic lane
Call 911 first. Getting traffic warned matters more than getting the truck booked, and an officer can close a lane in a way nobody else can.
